Modern Sound Corporation was formed in Sweden in the late 1960's as The Modern Sound Quintet by Trinidadian Steel Pan drummer Rudy Smith. This international group of musicians also featured John Roachford (piano) from Barbados, Sigfriend McIntosh (bass) from Surinam, George Allyn (drums) from Trinidad and Kofi Ayivor (congas; later Kofi & Kiki) from Ghana and Lars Samuelson (jazz trumpet) from Sweden.Late 70's they changed their name to Modern Sound Corporation.
